Ingredients
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 75g granulated sugar
- 10g salt
- 15g dry yeast
- 240ml warm milk
- 75g unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 100g brown sugar
- 50g raisins
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Flour for dusting
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate large bowl, mix the flour and salt.
- Add the melted butter and the egg to the yeast mixture, then pour into the flour bowl and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and raisins.
- Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangular shape about 1 cm thick.
- Spread the cinnamon mixture evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly to form a log and cut it into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the top of the rolls for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
