Recipe: 'lemon custard cake bulgarian style'
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 150 g granulated sugar
- 100 g butter, melted
- 200 ml milk
- 200 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 lemons (zest and juice)
- 1 pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and granulated sugar together until pale and fluffy.
- Add the melted butter, milk, lemon zest, and lemon juice to the egg mixture, stirring until combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes before removing from the baking dish.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
