Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 150 g granulated sugar
  • 100 g butter, melted
  • 200 ml milk
  • 200 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 lemons (zest and juice)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and granulated sugar together until pale and fluffy.
  3. Add the melted butter, milk, lemon zest, and lemon juice to the egg mixture, stirring until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes before removing from the baking dish.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
