Ingredients
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 100g granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 100g unsalted butter, softened
- 200ml milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the softened butter and mix until crumbly.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and lemon zest.
- Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until a smooth dough forms.
- Divide the dough into equal pieces, about the size of a golf ball.
- Roll each piece into a long rope (about 30 cm) and form into a ring, twisting the ends together to create a 'S' shape.
- Place the shaped kringla on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
