Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 50g unsalted butter
  • 60ml dark rum
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • a pinch of salt
  • Ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the brown sugar to the skillet and stir until dissolved.
  3. Stir in the sliced bananas, cinnamon, and salt, cooking until the bananas are softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Carefully add the dark rum and let it cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  5. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  6. Serve warm over ice cream or enjoy on its own.
